Sure you need to transfert your number, this must be done during the activation

Yes you can but you have to ask Fido how much is this going to cost you.7

If you got your phone from fido, yes you will paying something.6

To port your number from another provider, you must activate with a new plan. You cannot port to an already existing Fizz line.
If you are have a contract with Fido, then you will likely have to pay a penalty to leave them.
Whereas Fizz is a prepaid service, there is no contract.
