Did everyone who got an invite for Home Internet beta test already have a cable running to the house

Hi. Just wondering why some mobile beta testers got an invite to try the home internet and some didn't. I thought maybe one of the reasons would be you needed to have the physical cable hookup already. Did everyone who got an invite for Home Internet beta test already have a cable running to the house?

Not necessarily, I believe they come and install it for free24

Do we know what they offer and monthly prices?22

Prices I've seen for the Montreal area.
15Mbps..............$25
30Mbps..............$30
60Mbps..............$35
120Mbps............$40
Take this with a grain of salt as I have not seen it officially.
Maybe someone else can chime in.24 -
I had Videotron cable internet at home. Now I have fizz home internet. I can answer questions if you like.23

I was just wondering how they decide who gets an invite for the beta internet. I didn't get one but I do not have cable going to my house either.19

I think they have a chance of finding Videotron cable internet customers.20

Wow, those prices.... I'm wondering where is the trick. Both mobile and home internet prices are too good to be true. Btw, DSL or cable?20

I'm not sure what type of prices they are. They may be beta prices, intro prices, who knows. Maybe Isa E can chime in.19

The prices are written above. I had the same. Paying $45.99 including tax for 120 Mbps in MTL. They had cable internet only.it is unlimited.23

Kenny l. Is it in beta test? I assume yes right?20
-
Yes I do believe the home internet just started the beta testing.21

@Kenny L. One of the reasons a mobile beta tester will NOT get an invitation to beta test Home Internet is if she/he is NOT in Videotron’s territory.
.
The prices you quoted for Montreal are correct.
.
Check in your account anyway: “Overview” “Get started” “Internet”
.
I did not have an active cable connection to my apartment yet I got an invitation.
.
@Sergio C. No catch, it’s grandfathered beta testing prices.21 -
Thanks, @mario D.13

Can't wait for this service to be ready... I just hope they will offer us the same price for being beta testers or to those already on board.... Bye bye Teksavvy!

@Segio C. I don't want you to be disappointed. Based on the mobile pricing, once launched, the Internet pricing should be in line with the other 3rd party resellers of Videotron Internet. But that's one more argument to bargain with TeckSavvy.13

@Isa E, are you saying you currently with Fizz 120M home internet for 45.99$ ? I've just received an invitation today and would like to go with 120M cable.
I'm currently with another provider using cable 60M. Anyone know if we can temporary keep the existing provider and try Fizz in the meantime? So once tested, I can decide which one to keep.8 -
Hi. Yes I have the 120mbps for 40. But fizz is not offering it anymore.
If your other provider is not cable (if it is ADSL for example), you can try it. Otherwise I assume you would have to cancel the cable internet provider to have a new cable service installed.8 -
@ J. D. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you could wait to cancel your current provider, unscrew the cable from your current modem (if it's not locked - Videotron physically locks the cable to the modem) screw it to the Fizz modem, test it for a while, then when you are satisfied, call your previous provider and cancel. If you are not satisfied with Fizz, just plug back your old modem and cancel Fizz.8

They bring the cable modem to install the service. Videotron cancelled mine the same day. Actually the person who installed Fizz modem, stopped Videotron service right then. By the way, fizz modem's wireless capabilities are not the best. I kept the Videotron router just turned wifi off on the fizz modem and connected the Videotron router. Did not have to do anything extra.8

Vip install will do install for you. Self install won't have onsite install.7

No, I received an invitation but do not already have a cable line.
Actually I am not even in a Videotron coverage zone!7 -
Fizz is good !5
