What area codes are the phone numbers?
Hello, I am wanting to switch to Fizz and get a new number (Rather than port from my old carrier). I don't live in Quebec, but since this service is mostly qc based. Will I be able to get a number with 226 or 519 area code, or am I restricted to using specific area codes?

You can only get area code from a Fizz subscribing zone.
You can find out more here
https://fizz.ca/en/faq/subscription-area-and-coverage-area
And here

They will only give you an area code for the area that corresponds to your address. You have to give them an address in the subscription area (most of Quebec and the Ottawa region on Ontario), so you won't be able to get a western Ontario postal code.10

That could be a solution Allison, but you have to be aware about their rooming policy, where you have to use your phone in the Fizz coverage zone most of the time.
After 3 months of consecutive rooming, they'll more likely cut the service.

I'm in Ottawa, and I had the choice of 343 or 819 area code.

Area code is allocated according to your address and that address must be in the Subscription area8

If you don't live in Quebec or Ottawa then Fizz is not for you. You can figure out a workaround to get signed up (but not with the area codes you want) but your service will get disconnected eventually unless you spend a lot of time travelling to Ottawa/Quebec every month or two. You'll just have to move. ;-)5
