How much time do you have to apply an upgrade?

When you receive perks like data, you have a certain amount of day to apply it or it will expire.
What about upgrades? Do they ever expire if you don't apply them?

My understanding is that they are valid for 2 years from the date unlocked regardless of whether you apply them or not.14

They expire after 2 years. But only if you apply it. If you don’t activate it they won’t expire16

Also you can put upgrade in break too. I asked remove my one upgrade, Fizz replied:
" When you remove an upgrade after you activate it you can added again. If you do that, the upgared will be on break, and if you activate it after a while the new upgrade will be activate again.
