Hey guys, I bought my wife a Sim Card, and activated it for her trasnferring her number from Fido (same thing as mine). It's been 2 hours and she still has No Service whatsoever.
We updated carrier settings and we are even able to see the list of networks (Fizz EXT etc) but can't connect to any of them.
She has not received any notifications from Fizz, but her home page shows her usage and her phone number normally. Is this normal? How long would it normally take? Asking this because mine was instant.
Device: iPhone 7+, newest version (same as mine)
(Asking on her account)

Does her old sim still work? Sometimes it takes a bit longer.18

We have not tried putting back the old sim, but I did call Fido support right now and was able to log in with her number (which I could not when i ported my own number) so I guess the port wasn't yet done, even though the website says a maximum of 2 hours.17

Tou can log in even if port was done. Same happened when i was with virgin.
Port confirm mail came to me while i was talking with the customer care lol.
Try putting the old sim in. If it is working port hasn tbeen done yet. You just have to wait.17 -
I confirmed with Fido that there are no requests from Fizz to port the number as of right now and my Fido account is active and working normally16

What method did you use to port your number?
I have noticed it takes longer when you use the IMEI rather than an account number.17 -
Indeed we used the IMEI other than account number. But my port was instant meanwhile her hasn't even begun16

I suggest you contact fizz on Facebook messenger about this issue , with this link: https://m.me/fizzca16

Ports generally take less than half an hour if everything goes perfectly, but if you have any outstanding balances on your old account, this process can take longer. You can message customer service and they will submit a ticket for you.17

By messaging the customer service you mean filling a contact form? Because the so called chat bubble never ever appeared to me14

It took 5 days for me to port my fido number (secondary line on an account). Contacted everyday via chat bubble. Told them i am leaving in 24 hours if they dont fix and voila fixed within 24 hours.15

How am I supposed to threaten to leave if I can't unsubscribe from the plan while the line is not active?15

I'm in the exact same situation with moving a fido number taking more than 2 hours. I had issue accessing Fizz.ca web app and site tonight too. I'll give it some time and contacted them via FB messenger. Thanks for leaving trace here.14

I'll hop on the thread. I just got my sim today and started up a new number (where I selected the last 4 digits). It took 4 hours and a handful of reboots, but slowly the phone started coming to life. If it's not on by tomorrow, it's probably something more than a networking delay.14
