If you are in the "subscription" zone (ie. Quebec + Ottawa) I can't see why not (calls don't always come with originating number, so cannot be identified as LD). If you are outside, then I suspect not.

No issue for me. just checked.

Agree... not just for people with reduced vision... on crappy LCD panels it is a challenge too.

Last time I transferred out from Koodo I got a final bill in the mail, and my online account is still active after 2+ years (with no line associated with it).

Fizz being a discount brand for Videotron I am not surprised it only offers the lower tier services. For example Fido only offers 75 Mbit/s service where as Rogers has higer speed offerings.

@Rebecca S. The wording about introductory prices has been like that since they removed the December 19 end date around the 2nd Friday outage, well before the official extension of beta period.
-
Huh? She is referring to beta period, not launch pricing.

Just want to add that for upgrades and perks, it is the profile points that matter. While profile points are 3 per answer, the fact that we also get kudos points make it accumulate much faster tha community points.
-
@Kent T. I think there are two set of points involved. To achieve level 2 in your profile it is 1500 points, and has always been. The post you linked are referring to points in the community, which are awarded differently and is where it showed Apprentice 1/5, Apprentice 2/5 etc. (You see this by clicking on your name on…

With beta extended for 2 more months, I would think naturally introductory pricing should be extended for at least the same amount of time. More importantly, the fact that they are extending beta by two months means that there are still plenty of issues to address, and I would not jump to pay almost retail prices at this…
-
@Sam P. I think Beta prices are in single digits (< $10).
-
I makes sense to actually have a physical SIM to perform the final activation, imagine the nightmare of having your service ported but the SIM card is lost during delivery.
-
@Emre Y. I have a feeling that the people fixing LTE network are not the same doing the reward system.
-
Question about regression: If I read it correctly, this only occurs with levels 3 and above? Reason I ask is that I am currently on the fence while monitoring the outage situation but as my account is created but with no plans attached, I just don't want to lose points because the service is not stable enough for me to…
-
If this is official, it is possible that they have more issues to resolve that are likely to drive non beta testers away.
-
I don't think it really matters for Add-ons. For monthly plan, introductory prices are locked in until you make a change. With Add-ons, which have expiry dates from what I read, means that your savings is limited to probably once when Fizz is still in launch phase, but not later assuming they exit launch phase within the…

Fizz may be providing a sub par service now, but calling it a fraudster company is a stretch. Come on.
-
I hope Fizz will provide an SMS warning, which provides a direct link to their site to purchase additional add-on, and the SMS warning should come early enough so we still have enough data to buy additional add-on, say 5MB. Direct link will remove unnecessary surfing to the right URL and thus reduces chances of running out…
-
That's a good idea. They can also send SMS as well (just in case network issue does not affect SMS).
-
Perhaps they don't expect you to reach level 6 this quickly and never populate the reward? When I first joined, I looked at level 2 at 1500 points, and I figured it would take me forever to reach that with 3 points for each question and answer...
-
I don't think Fizz is intentionally selling numbers or customer data... all it takes from the spammer is a way to send SMS. Spammer does not care if the number is in service, so spammer can just run through all possible numbers. (E.g., I get CRA and Chinese Embassy fraud calls at my work number and I am 100% certain that…

Seems like it. I don't think anyone would join paying full prices given the last two outages. For those of us on the side line it gives us some more time to see if things pan out.
-
Debating between going Fizz with 1GB LTE Canada wide $25 or Public Mobile 500MB 3G Canada wide $28 ($30-$2 autopay). It would have been a no brainer if there were no outages on Fizz...
-
Count yourself lucky... others are not getting SMS at all and you get plenty :-)
-
@sivapalan A. I think people would be happy if the issues would be gone by Dec 18... that's a little over a week from now, so that's really optimistic given the two outages within 1 week of each other.
-
Hehehe... I have got SIM but not yet activated, and I am monitoring this community since then. Originally planned to activate next week when my current plan's billing period is over but I am now just debating if I should keep it for one more month, but risk losing the introductory price. In the process I am already two…

Reminds me the CBC Marketplace episode where someone purchased a plane ticket, got an error but still got charged.

What happens to the five 9s uptime that traditional telco strive for?
-
I am in the same boat as Barry L. and I am counting on they extend the introductory price beyond Dec 19. Who knows, may be some boxing day deal from other providers may come close enough in price without the issues.
