It’s not that important for me yet. Definitely not so important to attempt direct contact. I love fizz but we can all agree that getting support is not easy.

That's why I'm posting here :)
-
interested :)

Alright. I will enable roaming and see what happens.

The calls drop multiple times while I'm driving along Autoroute 40 in Montreal between Decarie and the West Island. There is no way I am getting a weak signal; there are cell towers visible every couple of kilometers and the signal on my phone is always 4 bars. I don't have data roaming enabled because I'm in Canada and I…

The problem kind of fixed itself. I still get the SMS error message but the code from a voice call finally worked after I waited a few extra seconds before entering the code (the code was always rejected with a non sensical message). WhatsApp support has asked me for the same information over and over again and repeats the…

You use Facebook messenger. Depending on who I'm talking to, I'm using iMessage, Facebook, or WhatsApp. My in-laws use WhatsApp exclusively, which means I can no longer communicate with them. Ultimately this problem is WhatsApp, but since they have billions of users they don't care if they lose one to a bug.

WhatsApp asked me for my phone number, then they asked for a video showing the behaviour, then they asked me to do the basic troubleshooting all over again. So they are utterly useless at supporting their product.

Update... I contacted Fizz support who offered some extra steps. I reseated my SIM card (I had alreayd reset network settings). No change. They suggested I contact Apple. I escalated back to WhatsApp.
-
Thanks. I followed those steps but same results. Also WhatsApp has put a 24hr delay on the next time I can call for a code (which has not worked either).
-
One of the first things I did was disable iMessage (I have since re-enabled it). Filter Unknown Senders has always been disabled.
-
Negative. I don't have any spares. This all started after I reset my phone following the iOS17 update. Should not be related, but I suspect some Apple foolishness here as well.
-
I reset the network and tried again, no change. I responded to WhatsApp, and their response is to contact Fizz. So WhatsApp is being useless but I have difficulty understanding if Fizz can or would be able to fix this.
-
Which is weird. I have been using WhatsApp for years with the same number accross various phones and SIM cards.
-
I followed the data usage since September 25 and it seems to line up with what my phone says. So all is well. Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Alright, so my unscientific test went as follows: At 20:51 yesterday I reset the statistics on my phone. As of 15:34 today, my phone says I used 69.0 MB of data. Fizz says I used 72 MB. Not a terrible difference, so I can accept this. It is clear to me that the Fizz stats are rounded up; why it added 3MB extra, I don't…

Negative. I don't use SMS or MMS. In fact, the only time I have used MMS was when I activated my sim card and sent a text and an image to someone who does not have an iPhone. Definitely not 50MB worth.

Thanks for your input Lieux. My question, then is, why is it that on Monday my data usage with Videotron was X, and consistent over time, and the first few days on Fizz the data usage is higher. The phone is the same, the app usage is no different between the last day of Videotron and the first few hours of Fizz. But with…

I should add; I checked my phone. WiFi Assist has used 1.9MB in the last 11 hours, The phone has been off WiFi for 10 minutes in the last 11 hours. I am resetting my phone stats to see the activity over the next 24 hours.
