⚡ ⚡ Two lines. Line 1: I've been with Fizz for over 3 years (beta customer). Ketchup's got nothing on mustard. And I gift data regularly. Line 2: 3 years. Free box (middle). I've played Ouija (my age is showing! ☺️) What do I win?

@idéfizz I saw the thread on the French forum. Looks like it's rolling out to many users. I'll assume it's officially rolling out. Thanks!
-
@Justin That post has been on Fizz's site since at least November 2020. I posted about it then: https://forum.fizz.ca/en/discussion/2525615/is-rcs-support-now-available-on-fizz#latest

Well, I've been checking in on this topic for awhile, and Google disabled, awhile back, the hack that allowed users to bypass their providers and use Google's RCS servers. So, I assume this must be official from Fizz. If you get a chance, try the official Google Messages app and see if RCS gets enabled automatically.…

@Rohan pi-hole on its own would not have addressed this issue. I use pi-hole and was still impacted because my upstream DNS at the modem level is still Fizz/Videotron's. What's worse is that I couldn't find this article since my phone is also on Fizz and my mobile data wasn't working. Then again, my modem is in bridge mode…

The speed is now back to normal, after over 2 hours of degraded service. Still, I need this fixed as I can't have this happen while I'm working from home.
-
Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention is that my upload speed stays normal at 20mbps. It's my download speed that drops to below 1mbps, when it should be 120mbps.

I've been dealing with this problem for quite a while, though it has never lasted this long (still doesn't get higher than 2mbps, as of this writing). So, I know how to log into the modem, even while in Bridge mode (for me, it was accessible at 192.168.100.1, even though that is not the subnet assigned by my router).…

Thanks, Mike. My upstairs tenant uses Bell and my neighbour whose house is connected to mine (and whose bundle of cables comes from the same place as mine) also used to use Bell, though there are new owners since July and I haven't asked them which provider they use. I know that only Fizz can check my signal, but I'm also…

I think this is a good idea. The forum sorta regulates itself, as you said by forum members not wanting to help scammers level up. But I think a little help from the moderators goes a long way to make things more fair and less annoying for the majority of the community.

If anyone needs some data and doesn't have Facebook (like me), send me a message and I can share with you. I have a few GBs left to share. Cheers!
-
If you still need data, I have some to share. PM me if you need. Cheers!

Awesome! Thank you, Fizz!

Thanks Alex, Yolo. I know my phone supports it as it worked with my previous provider. So the issue must be with the provider (Fizz). I thought that the presence of the FAQ was "proof" that the feature had arrived at Fizz, but I suppose we'll have to wait just a bit longer.

Just a quick note about your modem after putting it in bridge mode. The modern will not appear on your network with the same subnet as assigned by your router (ex: it won't be in the 192.168.1.x IP range, if that's what your router assigns as IP addresses). To access your modem, it will now have IP address 192.168.100.1…

I can confirm that the 4x8x series of modem/routers does not support NTFS drives. Some USB drives might have an additional partition for recovery or auto-mount, which might be what you're seeing as a 561GB? Here is the User Guide in attachment that confirms it.

As Mike mentioned, you may have disabled your WiFi. Another possibility is that you've disabled your Gateway function (basically, turning off the router). Once you connect to your modem by plugging a PC directly into the ethernet jack on the back of the device, go to 192.168.0.1 (or, it may have changed to 192.168.100.1)…

From the screenshot, it looks like your WiFi is indeed off, but there is no "4G" or "LTE" next to your network bar, which there should be if your phone was connecting to the mobile data network. My guess is that "Data roaming" is turned off, or there may be a problem with the phone's APN settings. Since it's working on the…

I assume your Android box was previously working when connected to your router from your previous ISP. If so, who set it up on your network? Was it the person who set up the box? It is possible the the box was set up using a static IP address that was valid for your previous router, but is not for your Fizz router/modem.…

Before using Fizz, were you using a different cable internet provider at the same address? If so, did you have flawless service? If not (and you have ruled out any issues with the modem by resetting your modem, as suggested by MichelP above), you may have an issue with your connection to the Videotron network. You should…
