same here in Ottawa, no service. Should we bet on how long this outage will last?..:-)

I got a sense the network is run by collage kids out of their garage. No serious telecom startup, especially back by one of the established providers would have such poor reliability.

I agree. It's absolutely amateurish service. Not a serious company at all.

I've used 2FA with few companies lately (eg. GoDaddy, Hotmail, Ebay, gmail) they all worked fine, however text message with code was sent from a regular (long form) number. At the same time, I have alerts setup with my bank, which usually come from short numbers and they still don't work. I guess if 2FA uses long numbers…

I'm pretty sure it'll go up significantly. The current $5 for 1GB is way below market. Compare it with what Fizz currently offers for the travel add-on to the US: 1GB for $20. And roaming in US is usually cheaper than other countries.

In my case, traveled to Mexico in December, I was only able to get data working on At&t. All other operators did not work. On At&t got 3G only, connection was stable, however was definitely throttled. Speedtest showed way below 3G speed.

I don't think it's a problem of the local operator, but rather an agreement Fizz has with them. Bell phone on the same network had much faster speed and connection reliability. I don't care if it's HSPA as is quite fast, unless it's throttled.

I did the same few times, plus submitted claim form and spoke via chat few times. Nothing moved. I guess you got lucky.

James, what did you do? My case is still unresolved. It has been almost 2 months.

School bus cancellation alerts via SMS not working either in Ottawa. Seriously, Fizz?dans SMS - 2-factor authentication - UPDATED list of companies Commentaire de Jacob S. #368 janvier 2019

Scotiabank alerts are still NOT working.

In Mexico only AT&T worked for me. Had to manually chose this operator.

Same issue here. Was in Mexico early December. Purchased 1Gb Latin America plan, put $5 in the wallet for incidentals, which disappeared the same day I landed in Mexico and started using data. Opened ticket with Fizz when got back home, still waiting to be resolved. It has been over a month now, just ridiculous. This…

I was able to receive text in Mexico, but could not send it. Voice calls did not work either way. I would get an error message trying to make a call. When calling my Canadian number from another phone I heard "number is not active" . Data was working fine only with AT&T Mexico.

Traveled to Mexico early December. Purchased 1GB / $5 data package for Latin America. Out of 3 local operators, I could only get data working on AT&T Mexico in 3G. I had to select operator manually on my phone to connect to AT&T. In auto mode phone would connect to Movistar, I'd see H+ data connection, but I was not able…

Calls started dropping again for me tonight. I guess it's related to the increased traffic on their network during peak hours. Very annoying!!!!!!!! Fizz definitely should compensate for this.
