Good morning @Cooksville_Steve I agree with @jvh_NVPF2 the only way to know for sure is to try it. Typically Fizz uses other provider towers when not using their own. Videotron: 4G : 700 MHz Lower A/B/C, Band 12/17 (LTE). 1700/2100 MHz AWS 1, Band 4 (LTE). 2600 MHz IMT-E, Band 7 (LTE). 3G : 1700/ 2100 MHz AWS 1, Band 4…dans using a 3G UMTS phone operating on the 2100 band for TEXT ONLY Commentaire de BradDoell 10 nov.

Good morning @Cooksville_Steve Unfortunately the answer is yes AND no. :-) Yes until spring 2025 when the 3G network is expected to be disbanded. No after that. Frequencies for 3G and 4G are below, as well as the source. Typically Fizz uses other provider towers when not using their own. Other provider Wireless 3G : 850…

Hi @magic_channel Personally, I am fine with it the way it is, except for for coverage and speed in 3G areas. I am pretty high tech and like to be connected everywhere, but my speed requirements are minimal. I don’t stream high demand content to my phone. I have all the coverage I need with my Canada/USA plan. When in…

Hi @amnesiac This FAQ explains your options in detail As @Oli 64JKA mentioned, you old plan (data, coverage, price) may not be available when you want to switch back. You are not guaranteed to return to your old plan. “Snip” Important: To ensure that a change to your plan comes into effect at the beginning of your…

Hi @Talarj To associate a card with a plan. Log into your Fizz account. Select the plan you wish to associate with a new card. Click on Manage plan > Change my payment method Select the payment method with which you’d like this plan to be associated with. If you have more than one Fizz plan, you must repeat these steps and…

Good morning @bobby211221122112 The CRTC requires that as of December 1 2017, all cell phones must be sold unlocked. I am assuming the phone you plan to give away was purchased after that? Cheers, Brad

Hi @Boothecat333 I travel to rural areas all the time and my iPhone 12 mini switches to 3G and back - this is normal. When 3G is discontinued, unless the carrier replaces the service with something better, there will be no service in those areas Cheers, Brad

Hi @ohnomydatasgone I am in rural manitoba at the moment - about 70 kms from the nearest partner tower - I just ran a test - 97ms cheers Brad

Hi @DanyM Try this and let us know how it goes, Type your husbands phone number, including the “1” ahead of the seven digits and send a text. Do not rely on a pop up contact name or any other auto complete. Cheers, Brad
-
Good morning @angryotter Are you able to receive texts and use data with everything else other than WhatsApp? Please let us know. if so, then the problem is most likely at the WhatsApp end. Cheers, Brad

Hi @Andrea V. #24002 It would appear that it has the proper frequency capability, however as noted, it is not on the official list. Perhaps because is is not sold as a “phone” per say, but rather as a tablet. The only way to truly know is to try it. You could also try asking Fizz support to see if they could give you an…

Good morning @Nerlyx Have you considered getting a data only eSIM for your trips? This is what I do when I travel outside of Canada/USA as it is much cheaper than Fizz add ons. If you regularly travel to the USA, the USA plan is very inexpensive with Fizz. Mine cost 2.00 a month on top of the Canada plan. Cheers, Brad

Good morning @Lily0628 Here is the FAQ on the topic. See the bottom of point #1 for instructions on how to,check the status of delivery. Cheers, Brad

Good morning @Micos I cannot think of one internet service provider that does not offer unlimited plans. They do however drop the speed significantly after a certain amount of data has been used. Pay As You Go plans are offered, which can be limited by the amount of money that is in your account - when you run out of money…

One of the great things about Fizz is that we are not locked 8th any contracts and can leave anytime without penalty. I live in Winnipeg where there are no Fizz towers, only roaming partner networks and I have no troubles at all. Fizz uses partners towers here and my reception is identical to what I had with my other…

The price for Canada and USA can’t be beat and the rollover certainly helps.

Good morning @Math_3w It looks like Affirm is also the financier for Apple and Samsung. You could always apply for a loan/line of credit at a bank or financial institution. Cheers, Braddans Do you know if there is an alternative to financing by Affirm Commentaire de BradDoell 27 sept.

thanks for the info folks. I can’t see how this happened with my phone in the same pocket it always is, however somehow it must have happened. Has anyone ever heard of or experienced a mobile provider calling 911 without any action taken by the user?

Good morning @Joey5518 It is not uncommon for spam calls to hang up before they get answered or it has a chance to ring. This happens to me from time to time. If a voice mail was not left, I assume the caller was spam. I only answer calls from numbers in my contact list for this reason. I would not be concerned. Cheers,…

Hi, I have no such issues. My voice connections are stable , they ring on both ends, and my data is always working. I am in Winnipeg, which is always EXT.

I am in Winnipeg, so I am at the mercy of the MNO :-(

Hi @akaris As an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator ) Fizz is at the mercy of their MNO (mobile network operators) who o troll the feature and have not yet made RCS available to their MVNO. And why would the MNO be in any hurry? Customers such as yourself may well stay with their MNO or switch back to get this feature.…

I had a quick look at the Koodo support site. It looks like you should log into your Koodo account and initiate a conversation there. With any luck, they will be able to authorize the porting of your number to Fizz. Cheers, Brad

Good morning @hoyee Log into your Fizz account and see if you can change your pin. To customize or reset your PIN: Follow the instructions in your voicemail or do it from your Fizz account under My Plans > Manage My Plan > Advanced Settings > PIN to Access Your Voicemail. Cheers, Brad

No issues for me in Winnipeg, iOS to android and back.

Hi @Devon J. Since changing you plan won’t work out for you this time, perhaps check out eSIM offerings for short term data providers. The prices are very reasonable. Cheers, Brad
