Is not B4 (LTE) for data only? Fizz has no VoLTE, right. According to their website a LTE phone should support B2 B5 HSPA. Note support HSPA+, yet I am not sure of HSPA. Again the problem is only in some spots over city. In most places in the city it works.

I tried the sim with other phones and did worked well. Apparently it has problem with reception as it does not functioning in some place though not sure is it specific to model or just the phone issue. Did not try Airplane thing yet will try
