I re-did the math, and it doesn't add up. I think you're estimation sounds more reasonable, I jumped from level 1 to level 2 in one month without doing anything so I probably received around 1300-1400 points for a purchase of 440$ :)

I recently bought a phone through fizz and I believe the points correspond to how much you spend on the phone. So 10 points for every dollar you spend!
