Interesting... However I have 14GB of data left. :( And the fact that it just started to work, is weird too.
-
I had this issue for almost a month. I send multiple FB messages and the reply I got back was that they'll look into it. After LTE was restored, I decided to give it another go today. So far it has been 5 minutes and it's still working well! I think you should try what I did, who knows it'll be fixed soon.
-
Nope. Still 3G. Unlikely until next week
-
Should work
-
Issue fixed . and I am back to 2 mins 53 seconds :(
-
I'm also that certain member. Stuck on 3G.
-
Suffering is the right word. I hate saying this, but I guess you can only expect so much for the price (in my case, still the Beta pricing). Bad image on Fizz.
-
Works well for me.
-
So much usage on community mainly because there are so many issues :)
-
They will not ship you the SIM card. Also, your connection will be considered roaming, so you won't be in the home coverage.
-
Bad timing! You will need to wait until the network congestion issue is fixed.
-
It's weird since for the other companies, when their major company's experiencing an outage, more times than not, the sub-company goes down as well. It does not seem to be the case with Fizz, so this leaves me even more concerned on how much of a compromise Fizz has against even the parent network to further bring costs…
-
I hope it's not like last time, where the service was out for at least half a day
-
I recall the first days of Mobilicity and Freedom Mobile. It wasn't as bad as this, and both services had issues too. Very surprising since it is owned by Videotron. You would expect the service to be the same (like Rogers/Fido, Telus/Koodo), but clearly Fizz is doing something very customized to save costs. Not sure if…
-
@Yun H the thing is if you force 3G, often times LTE is sacrificed ...
-
lol. This thread is funny.
-
I change my phones all the time. It sucks that I'm tied to an IMEI I likely won't recognize.
-
It should just work. Something's not right, you should reach out to technical support.
-
I'd say contact them via FB messenger. https://www.facebook.com/fizzca/
-
Right now, Fizz network is generally unstable (you can look at some of the issues that occurred in the last week or two). For the price though (especially for beta users), you can only hope that it becomes better over time. I don't feel my LTE to be much slower than before (I was on Fido).
-
As someone who tried it out... Canada - uses Rogers mainly when outside of Fizz coverage. Works decently when it wants to work. USA - spotty at best. Huge fluctuation between ATT & T-Mobile (like every few minutes). I had to manually select ATT network to use it sort of properly. This was in Los Angeles
-
Is your APN set properly? The default from SIM was different than what Fizz provided in their website. https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-are-fizz-network-settings-apn
-
I guess this will be the case until VoLTE is enabled.
-
I don't think there are any specific restrictions on this. See this post: https://community.fizz.ca/questions/1803885-tethering-work
-
No problems for me.
-
FB messenger might be an option. Not sure how frequently they reply back though.
-
Cool didn't see that T.D! But I guess maybe I can keep this as more of a Non-Ottawa speed test thread, since the other is around Ottawa. (Looks like if I make best answer this thread becomes closed, so I'll leave it open)
-
I'd get the Canada coverage plan if I were you. Not a big price difference.
-
T.D - Currently no, because I'm currently outside of the subscription area. But I would be able to connect when in coverage. It works when in normal Fizz network. I'm quite certain this has to do with EXT. Definitely Fizz needs to fix this issue.

Only if Fizz sent an email around it. My wife and I struggled while in the U.S. when both SIM cards stopped working. We thought we were suspended or something! Worst part of it was that we got lost because we lost internet connectivity (hence no Google maps). If we knew there was an issue overall, then we wouldn't have…
