With all these outages I think you need to extend your introductory prices period... few will consider paying post-introductory prices with this many outages.

Try restarting the phone... last time I swapped to a different provider's SIM it took me two restarts (first after inserting SIM did not work), need to restart a second time for the iPhone to pick up the carrier setting.

Sebastian P.: Both 514 and 438 are Montreal numbers (overlay, see map at the bottom http://www.cnac.ca/area_code_maps/canadian_area_codes.htm), so I am surprised that they would not allow porting in a 514 number as they share the same geographic areas. It took me 1 day in Ottawa for my SIM to arrive. Kent T. mentioned rush service - as far as I can tell it is only available in Montreal.

Since you actually live in Ottawa, you can still get an Ottawa number to take advantage of the lower cost, then use a VoIP provider to port your Manitoba number and have that CFWD to your Ottawa number. It will cost you a little bit for CFWD, but over time you can give your new numbers out.

It is delivered by Purolator so it won't be in your mailbox if you live in an area with super mailbox. In my case they left it in my front porch mailbox that I have, and purposely leaving it visible a bit. Perhaps it is in there if you have one?

Quebec coverage includes Ottawa according to the coverage map. So I think technically you can choose Quebec only. However, I tried different plan configurations and just about every one of them has a $2 difference between Canada and Quebec. I would think it makes sense to select Canada just to avoid having to deal with…
