From my experience, when you get a new provider to take over your number, the act of transferring the number cancels the previous account. But, if you have things like a tab remaining or other outstanding charges, you should definitely contact your previous provider and settle up. They will not forget about it. But if…

Ya. That's weird. When I transferred my number to Fizz, I initially got an email stating they would not be able to transfer my number. Please contact them. Then two hrs later I got the email stating welcome aboard, you are now part of the family! Definitely contact Fizz and see what's going on. Good luck!
-
I couldn't agree more! It is very difficult to see the different coverage zones by color! I am slightly colorblind but can still barely make out the color differences. Barely. Please change the colors Fizz!
-
I'd say try contacting Fizz. Hopefully they can help. Good luck!

Better service in the rural areas. Signal really gets bounced around a lot.
-
I'm sure you've tried rebooting? Logged into your account, make sure things look good there? Maybe reset your phone's network settings and re-input them all again.
-
I've heard that if you can get a chat bubble then it may be dealt with straight away with the CS agent on the other end.
-
I had that problem when I first signed up to Fizz two weeks ago and it took a pile of network resets, APN settings, system reboots before it worked.
-
I've seen firsthand different speeds from different towers and different times of day. Everything from 13 Mbps download to 90 Mbps. It should get better as you travel around.
-
No deadline. Give 'er.
-
AB B, that's my thinking as well. These other services will hopefully be slipped into operation after these current bugs are taken care of.
-
Did you receive a text or email from Fizz giving you the initial PIN for your voice-mail?
-
I've heard some people have had problems with switching from Freedom accounts.
-
I never did get an email stating my SIM card was shipped. I just logged into my Fizz account and looked at my order status.
-
I ported over from telus and it took about 6 hrs to get completely switched over. Then I had to setup the APN settings. Took a while. Had to reset a couple times. Eventually, texting and data worked. I got an email saying that they wouldn't be able to switch me over, then 2hrs later an email saying it's all done!…

Hopefully you still have access to all the monthly data you are paying for!
-
The Case of the Disappearing LTE has been solved! High fives all around!
-
Wow. Just got a massive boost in speed in kanata!
-
If your phone is compatible you may need to update your phone and follow the instructions on how to load up the network.
-
That's what I see too. CS agent referring to Beta extension.
-
Blessed LTE is back up and running! 28 down, 10 up. Kanata.
-
Right on!! Time for a speedtest!!!
-
Sounds very odd. Technical glitch for sure. Try to get a hold of CS agent either on website or FB.
-
Resetting my network settings on my phone, then inputting the APN settings manually and rebooting worked for me.
-
Same here Francisco T. I'm in and around Ottawa every day, all parts and there's lots of times where 3G signal drops out completely. Sure would be nice to have full bore LTE coverage in the entire area they are trying to service!
-
Patience is a virtue......hurry up dammit!
-
Ya, my data service was spotty. And my sms didn't work at all. After resetting things started to work better. Also, if your phone is jumping from tower to tower a lot it really throws a wrench into things and slows everything down.
-
It's pretty user friendly when you "Start from Scratch". You get to see the costs right away when you adjust the plan with different features and options.
-
You may have to reset your network settings on your phone first, then re-input the APN settings. It worked for me.
-
Hopefully the update is soon. I'm sure Fizz will start to lose even more people if they don't.
