  • You're not reading the coverage map correctly. When you are in NB you are roaming, not on Fizz's network. That's why they won't send you the sim card. They can't service customers who would be roaming all the time.
  • Yes, Fizz is based out of Quebec plus Ottawa. If you get a Canada wide plan it will work everywhere, but you need to make sure you spend most of your time inside the green zone and can't sign up unless you live within it. If you live in the green zone and never leave it then the Canada wide option wouldn't be needed.
  • There are still SMS issues, especially with 2FA not working for a lot of companies. And the occasional glitches where regular SMS messages get lost or delayed. But LTE hasn't been down for quite a while. If your texts don't have to be 100% reliable then it's a good time to make the switch so you can lock in lower prices.
  • It's just fellow customers here, but maybe you'll get lucky and a staff member will read your question and do something about it.
  • I agree, it makes sense to have a special filter on the data services so you can always access the website and you also don't have access to the website count as part of your data allowance. But I suspect M T. is right that it doesn't work this way.
  • You are correct, unlimited and none are the only plan options. Otherwise you can use the add-on or wallet as previously suggested.
  • Does calling work when you connect to Fizz Ext manually (if your phone lets you)? What about if you switch to preferring a 3G data connection in your network settings? Different frequencies are used for voice and data when you are set to LTE data, but not on 3G. It's possible your phone doesn't support the required voice…
  • According to the Nova 2 Plus quick start guide I found on Huawei's website there are two versions of the phone and neither has LTE band 4 support. So no LTE on fizz. Maybe the source you found indicating B4 was present is incorrect, because the phone is sure acting like it's not there.
  • It's your phone. It doesn't have LTE band 4 and therefore isn't compatible. You also don't have 3G 1700 MHz so you will be using a lot of Fizz Ext on that phone, I would wager. You should get a different phone if you want to stay with Fizz, and should not expect any compensation for failure to get the service you want…
  • You can probably disable the forwarding to voicemail from your phone if you want it to stop functioning before your next billing cycle starts. Where you go exactly would depend on your phone. But you can also try dialing ##002# and hit the call button in your phone app to disable it permanently. I accidentally stopped…
  • If talking to customer service is important to you, you're with the wrong company.
  • You're not the only one who has had spotty text messages over the last week so I don't know if that's really part of your Fizz Ext problem. I don't know what kind of phone you have, but if it's an iPhone maybe there's a system update you can download over WiFi that will help. If it's an android, maybe you can change your…
  • I think you should see more options than that. Did you port in a number, and has the port completed already? If not, you'll have to wait before everything shows up. But as René said, if your phone is asking for an unlock code you can't get it from Fizz and will have to contact your old provider.
  • If your phone doesn't support band 4 HSPA (1700/2100 MHz) then I believe you would get data only; assuming it has band 4 LTE. Is that possibly your issue? If so, you should be able to connect to Fizz Ext to make calls (if your phone lets you, but for some reason mine will only connect to Fizz Ext when it chooses to and not…
  • I wouldn't go for 120 Mbps any time soon unless the price was too good to pass up. Even 60 would be overkill for me as I have 30 Mbps DSL right now and it's more than sufficient. I also prefer DSL over cable, so I am not likely to be a home Internet customer anytime soon and you can probably disregard my opinion.

  • Perks and data gifts are a one time use and the expiry date shows up when you check your usage in the account portal. It should be 30 days at least from the day you activate it. Data upgrades are different and are applied monthly for 2 years (supposedly, for now, but nothing is really set in stone for that yet).
  • Good thing I built a time machine the other day. I can confirm they will have increased the speed by 2025 at the latest, assuming nothing happens between now and then to disrupt the timeline.
  • There is no identity check to get Fizz, especially if you use a prepaid credit card for the payments, so there's no problem with having the account in any name you want. The only thing standing in the way of complete anonymity is the requirement to send the sim card to your home address. But even then I don't think the…
  • I had no problems with texting for about a month after the big December outages, but this week I have also had several texts sent to me failing to get through. All my texts out have worked, though.
  • You need WCDMA band 4 for 3G to work, so no it doesn't look like you would get anything other than Fizz Ext. I do think there are some areas where the LTE isn't on band 4, but without VoLTE as an option yet (I think) you would be looking at data service only, no calls. Again, Fizz Ext should work fine. But unless you are…
  • I'm guessing you have different options on your phone. I attached a screenshot of my options, and I can just click on any of them and change or remove the number. Fizz Ext is the network name you should see if you are connecting to one of the partner networks (Rogers or Bellus) rather than Fizz itself. I imagine you…
  • And just to make sure, you are connecting to Fizz and not Fizz Ext when you are doing this, right?
  • I may have encountered the same problem when I tried out unconditional forwarding and then wanted to take it off after. The MMI code worked to set up the forwarding but then something happened and I couldn't get any MMI codes to take when I wanted to go back to conditional forwarding to voicemail. I had to do it using the…
  • I've definitely had LTE back for more than a month now. If you are on an Android device you can check whether you have somehow set it to only connect at 3G in the mobile network settings. For android 9 that's at Settings : Network and Internet : Mobile Network : Advanced : Preferred network type. The steps will be similar…
  • The origin point of an incoming call is never relevant for any network in Canada, and never has been to my recollection. I'm not sure where the idea that it matters comes from. What does matter are where you are calling to and where your phone is at the time of the call. So, with the Canada and USA option on your plan you…
  • Yeah, you will have to talk to them to get your money back. And don't expect it to happen quickly. I had a ticket open to get my $5 back for the same problem (incorrect roaming charges) and they closed it saying it is being taken care of but the money is not back in my wallet yet after more than a week after the notice was…
  • I've found speed is highly dependent on the location, which is presumably a function of both signal strength and the network capacity in general. At home I get exactly the same speeds you describe. At work, which is probably a bit closer to the same tower and where I get a somewhat stronger and more reliable signal I get a…
  • I tried again just for fun and I still didn't get an error but also still didn't get any texts.
