I'm planning a couple trips in the coming months, I don't really see any clear explanation as to what my options are when roaming? Do I have access to a daily package option or should I add an option to my plan for that month?

Your options are getting a travel addon for abroad. Depending on your needs, you can also just add money to wallet and pay per use if usage is low. For the US, you can add the US/Can plan option which is not too pricey and gives you all access.10
